Neurotoxins
HOW DO NEUROTOXINS WORK?
Wrinkle relaxers relax the muscles of the face that contract and causes wrinkling.
Neurotoxins work by preventing the release of signals (acetylcholine) from the nerves to muscles. As a result, muscle contraction is inhibited, and our muscles from our facial expressions are given the freedom to relax and soften.
The most commonly injected areas are the forehead lines, vertical lines between the eyes, “crow’s feet” around the eyes, sagging eyelids, chin dimples, axilla (axillary hyperhidrosis), and vertical lip lines.
The effects of neurotoxins last 3-4 months
Dermal Fillers
As we age, we lose the integrity of collagen and elasticity in our skin, resulting in the loss of volume and fullness to the face, including nasolabial folds, cheeks, and lips.
Dermal fillers are injectable treatments that contain hyaluronic acid, collagen, or calcium hydroxyapatite, that adds volume to the skin and enhances shallow contours and plumping.
Dermal fillers tend to have a “moisturizing” effect and are often used in combination with neurotoxins for optimal results, leaving your skin tighter, brighter, and fuller, allowing for a beautiful and natural appearing result.
Who would be a good candidate for a filler?
If you have any fine lines and wrinkles and wish to look younger, dermal fillers will be an excellent choice for you.
What Kind of results should I expect after my dermal filler?
Some bruising may occur after your session, following the treatment, lines begin to fade within 24 hours, with further changes taking place gradually over a few days.
Recovery times differ depending on the type of filler injected and the individual. You should be able to resume activities after your procedure but should avoid exercise during the first 24 hours following the injection of fillers.
Semiglutide is an injection that is FDA approved for weight management.
For your first appointment, you’ll need to book a consultation with our healthcare team. Before coming in, you’ll need to complete some blood tests and confirm that you are under the supervision of a PCP, or Primary Care Physician. During your consultation, our medical professionals will assess whether semaglutide is an appropriate and safe choice for you, based on FDA guidelines for obesity treatment. This appointment involves a thorough review of your medical history, current medications, vital statistics, and BMI.
You are NOT a suitable candidate for semaglutide if you have any of the following conditions: diabetic eye disease, hypoglycemia, impaired kidney function, pancreatitis, gastrointestinal issues, gallbladder disease, medullary thyroid carcinoma (or a family history of it), or multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2. This also applies if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
Semiglutide Results:
Semaglutide is among the most effective weight management medications available. However, don’t expect rapid weight loss. Typically, individuals lose around 1-3 pounds per week, although this can vary. Combining semaglutide with a calorie-restricted diet and regular physical activity will enhance your results.
If you have health issues related to excess weight, you should notice improvements with treatment. Many report reductions in cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels. Most patients reach their weight and health objectives within six months to a year and generally have more long-term success compared to those who haven’t used semaglutide.
During your personal consultation, we will discuss the advantages of semaglutide for weight management and set realistic expectations for your treatment journey.
The starting dose for semaglutide is usually 0.25 mg per week, increasing by 0.25 mg every four weeks until the desired dose is achieved, as tolerated.
